Mr. Courtnage's practice for the past 30+ years has focused on commercial real estate, with particular emphasis on assisting non-U.S. based clients. He has advised individuals and companies in the structuring of entities for, and in the acquisition, financing, construction, operation, leasing and ultimate sale of, office, shopping center, industrial and mixed-use projects and portfolios located in Washington and elsewhere in the U.S. In a number of these transactions the amounts involved exceeded $100,000,000. Mr. Courtnage also assists clients in corporate and commercial matters.

Mr. Courtnage is a graduate of Stanford University Law School and has served as an officer, director and chairperson of sections and committees of the Washington State Bar Association and as a speaker, chairperson and organizer of seminars organized by the Washington State Bar Association and other providers.

Mr. Courtnage is known as a pragmatic, bottom line focused attorney who brings practical and business oriented experience to bear on his clients' legal issues.
