Our Attorneys

Aleana Harris’ practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions including the development, leasing, financing, acquisition and disposition of projects. Ms. Harris counsels developers, investors, lenders and borrowers in transactions involving retail, office, industrial, condominium, multifamily and mixed use projects throughout the country. She negotiates purchase and sale agreements and complex retail, office and industrial leases. Ms. Harris also represents lenders and borrowers in connection with real-estate-secured construction and permanent financing, including multi-property and multi-state transactions.

Ms. Harris received her B.A. from Washington State University in 1996 and her J.D. with honors from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2000. Before joining Alston Courtnage & Bassetti LLP, Ms. Harris was an associate with the law firm of Preston Gates & Ellis LLP from 2000 through 2005.

Ms. Harris is a member of the King County and Washington State Bar Associations, the American Bar Association and the American College of Mortgage Lawyers. She was the Editor of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA), Real Property and Probate Section Newsletter and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Probate and Trust Section of the WSBA. She has co-authored numerous articles on Deeds of Trust including a chapter for the Washington Real Property Deskbook. She has worked on real estate and finance legislative issues including preparing amendments to the Washington Deed of Trust Act and testifying at the Washington State Legislature. She also served on FareStart’s Corporate and Downtown Major Gifts Committee and Corporate Outreach Committee and currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Spectrum Dance Theater.
