Our Attorneys

Mr. Read's practice concentrates on commercial real estate transactions, particularly purchase and sale, development, joint ventures, limited liability companies, financing, leasing and investment. These transactions involve office, retail, industrial, multi-family, mixed use and land development projects. Mr. Read is also experienced in residential real estate transactions, and general business and commercial law.

Mr. Read graduated summa cum laude from the University of Washington in 1981, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. degree with honors from the University of Washington School of Law in 1984, where he was an editor of the Washington Law Review. He was also elected to the Order of the Coif, and has been in private practice in Seattle since 1984.

Mr. Read is a member of the King County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and is also a member of the real property sections of those bar associations. Mr. Read is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs sponsored by state and local bar associations. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, he practiced with the Seattle law firm of Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC for thirteen years.
