Mr. Shigley's practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions and insolvency matters. He counsels developers and investors in transactions involving shopping centers, hotels, office developments, industrial properties, and multi-family projects. He advises clients with respect to joint ventures, limited liability companies, financing, leasing and investment matters. He regularly represents both borrowers and lenders in real estate secured financing transactions including construction loans, permanent financing, bridge loans and mezzanine loans. He also represents clients in connection with loan work-outs, bankruptcy, and insurance company insolvency matters.
Mr. Shigley graduated from the University of Washington in 1992. He received his law degree, magna cum laude from the University of Idaho in 1996, where he was editor-in-chief of the Idaho Law Review. He was an Extern with the Hon. Eugene A. Wright, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in 1995, and was a Law Clerk to the Hon Elaine M. Houghton, Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II from 1996-97.
Mr. Shigley is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the WSBA Real Property Probate and Trust Section. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Center for Wooden Boats.
